I created this account on a whim. People tell me that I am good at explaining things coherently, but I’m struggling to get started. In order to get some clarity for both me and you, here are some meta-thoughts about the format of this newsletter:
I’ll keep a stream-of-consciousness vibe going, trying my best to stay true to the processes that are alive in me. I spend a lot of time on introspection, getting better at life, and radical honesty.
I intend to bring in shoulder advisors in later posts. Intended format: introspective dialogue in written form. Why? I want to achieve sophrosyne, a state where the things that are good for me are also salient to me. Internalizing advisors that correct my value judgements on the fly seems like a viable way to reach that state. Engaging in written dialogue with said advisors seems like a viable way to internalize them. I just need to figure out who to internalize.
I will do my best to keep the content unstructured and unlimited by conceptual boundaries. This is an easy cop-out to avoid having to figure out a way to make my thoughts presentable.
I feel moved to list a few things that might pop up. Both as a way to brainstorm, and in order to give you some basis for a decision on whether to continue reading. I might write about:
Non-coercive motivational systems, and practical steps for loving yourself
Life experiments related to sexuality, flirting, sex parties
The road to becoming an AI alignment engineer
Seeking randomness & chaos as a way to find new perspectives on life
Radical honesty experiences & practice
Applied virtue ethics
I’m feeling tired, so I’ll end this post now. The next post will most likely be about how I sometimes struggle to ask for things I want, especially when it comes to intimacy.
