Upsetting people for fun and profit

I'll try to take my own advice next time I'm trapped in a mingle

Opening up and becoming more assertive can make some people upset.

This is great.

The quicker you make people upset, the quicker you figure out whether you get along with someone. Upsetting people in a timely manner will allow you to cycle through potential friends faster, finding people you match well with.

By standing true to the things you care about, you allow others to see you, and connect if they like what they see.

It also allows you to act in ways that reinforce behaviour patterns that you wish to develop, rather than staying trapped in social roles that don’t serve you.

I was inspired to make this post after a philosophical guidance session I just had. It’s written partially to myself - I want to lean into honesty to a greater degree in my life.
