The Challenge to End All Challenges
Surfing gets Tiring
When I’m anxious, I turn needs into challenges to overcome.
Instead of asking for help, I challenge myself to reach out. Instead of opening up, I challenge myself to be vulnerable. Instead of taking care of a need, I challenge myself to endure.
When I step towards a challenge, I bolster myself, growing larger than life. If I succeed, there is a rush of pride: I go on a roll and forget the anxiety.
But what happens when I fail?
Riding the wave of success is thrilling, until I look down.
Fearing the fall, I see a looming challenge and… hesitate.
When the glory is gone, only the anxiety remains.
It’s time for the challenge to end all challenges: to care for myself instead of bolstering.
P.S: I offer philosophical guidance: 1on1 sessions where we explore important confusions in your life. Sessions are 60-90 min, and run in the gifting economy (pay what you want).
Here’s a statement from my client Frans-Lukas, shared with his consent:
“I’ve attended Jonathan’s philosophical guidance sessions four times, and the experience has been transformative. […] I often share the concepts discovered in Jonathan’s sessions with my friends, and they’ve significantly impacted my life.“
