Smearing Arrogance
I’m disgusted by these masturbatory perspectives.
I push myself down to lift myself up.
Deeply hidden shameful patterns, murking and lurking.
A splendid contraption, glorious and shining, resting on a bed of rotting innocence.
Look up! Look forward!
Push n rise, don’t look down.
Ignore the judgmental victim, the scared child, the anxious control freak. Don’t look at the gloop and ick.
An inner separation, the bad and the glorious.
Projected outwards, smeared onto groups.
On a pedestal: glorious beings worthy of fear. I diminish myself in the meetings, capping and cutting. Hiding my glory under a blanket of fear.
Beneath me: anxious dorks, rummaging in their own misery. Unaware of whatever feature of the map-and-or-territory I am currently basing my self-worth on.
The jagged edge, serving as serration rather than a meeting point.
Plague of modernism: the clear cut!
Plague of the postmodern response: undifferentiated monist blob, all equal.
The cut is enjoyable, makes me feel discernful. The mush is enjoyable, makes me feel better than the cutters. Neither serves to enlighten.
Why do I cling to takes? I’m disgusted by these masturbatory perspectives.
Maybe it’s time to dive into the rot. To look at the gloop. Gah.
P.S: I offer philosophical guidance: 1on1 sessions where we explore important confusions in your life. Sessions are 60-90 min, and run in the gifting economy (pay what you want).
Here’s a statement from my client Frans-Lukas, shared with his consent:
“I’ve attended Jonathan’s philosophical guidance sessions four times, and the experience has been transformative. […] I often share the concepts discovered in Jonathan’s sessions with my friends, and they’ve significantly impacted my life.“
